The Super Structure can also be positioned on a lined brick pit provided that it complies with the dimensions as set out in the specifications. 

It is recommended that the appointed engineer provides supervision during the construction of a brick / block lined pit system.

These pits can be made deeper if a larger pit volume is required. Larger pit
volumes will only contribute towards longer pit life-spans.

High Water Table Conditions:

The pit structure complies with all handling and construction specifications
as for the Super structure. Emptying of the pit, if and when required is done
by removing the back cover slab.

Lined brick / block Pit:

Betram advocates that all pits to be sealed watertight. Attached hereto is the specifications on watertight lined pit structures and open lined structures. We also advocate the construction of sealed  brick or block structures.

All concrete elements are manufactured to the same specifications as for the Super structure.  The pit is designed to suit all types of soil conditions and Geotechnical scenarios. The Betram pit volume is 1580 liter. (1.58 cubic meter)

The concrete lined bottom Pit Structure consists of:

• Safe storage of faeces
• No underground water pollution
• Complete dry aerobic composting system
