The Canon EOS 500D, also known as the Canon EOS Rebel T1i in the US, comes with a 15.1 megapixels CMOS image sensor that is capable of high ISO sensitivity up to the expanded limit of ISO 12800. A clear upgrade to its predecessor, the 500D also includes a high resolution 3-inch Clear View LCD which delivers 920k dots resolution. Not just for viewing your composition, you can use the LCD for Live View as well as video mode. The Canon 500D boasts a Full HD (1080p) movie mode for a spectacular movie making experience. You also have the choice to record in lower quality videos both 720p and VGA resolutions are also available.
