God bless you all.

        May parents and their children have fun in playing this religious Chess Game. May they learn to know the courageous characters of Moses and Joshua. May they bring home a set of this Chess Game. It makes also an ideal gift for their friends as well.

        It is the desire of the designer that parents might take some times to share with their children in this religious Chess Game in order to foster familiar spirit and bring joy to their family life. May the parents always have the forming of their children into cheerful and active Christians as their highest endeavour, because children are indeed the inheritance of God.

The Chess Game is not just another of the many existing ones. It demands some strategy and thinking and is, above all, very educational. Take for instance, the gravest penalty is meted out for the worship of the Golden Calf, because it trespasses against the First Commandment that prohibits the worship of idols. On the contrary, the highest prize is reserved for the Passover, because it is the day of deliverance from slavery of the Israelites, a symbol of our freedom from sins through the Sacrament of Baptism. There is a sequence of Sabbath every 7 days as a reminder of our Sunday celebration of the Eucharist. There are special squares on the Chess Board, i.e. the Red Sea and the Sinai, where one passes under certain conditions only. The designing of the Chess Game is meant to be exciting and educational, leading children and adults alike to get acquainted with the biblical texts.

The Game is based on the texts of Exodus and Joshua that retells the story of Moses from his birth to the Conquest of the Promised Land under the leadership of Joshua, his successor.

We should  bring religious education into the family so that our children could identify with the faith of their parents through daily living, study and games. In a family characterized by a good religious atmosphere, children can grow into maturity like the child Jesus in the Holy Family with Mary and Joseph.

God bids us teach our children the wisdom of living through a combination of justice and loving kindness so that they may grow up in an atmosphere of love and joy.

-      Children, be obedient to your parents always, because that is what will please the Lord. Parents, do not irritate your children or they will lose heart. (Col 3:20-21)

-      Parents, never drive your children to resentment but bring them up with correction and advice inspired by the Lord. (Eph 6:4)

-      Honour your father and your mother, as Yahweh your God has commanded you, so that you may have long life and may prosper in the country which Yahweh your God is giving you. (Dt 5:16)

The Family is a value much cherished in the Holy Scriptures, as we can see in the inspired texts, e.g.:
