Hayward Tyler induction generator electrical design is based on the comprehensive range of electric motor designs. The electrical generator can be supplied to complement a turbine arrangement powered by water, either tidal or river. The range of outputs will be suitable for connection to the electrical grid. The generator can be supplied in a variety of materials suitable for immersion in sea or river water. The Hayward Tyler squirrel cage induction submersible generators are engineered for specific input and output criteria. The complex balances of electrical variables are optimised with the corresponding mechanical requirements resulting in longevity and reliability. The generator is wound with XLPE insulated cable, which is selected to maximise operating life. The moulded connections inside the generator ensure a high uniform grade insulation system. The tilting pad thrust bearing is sized to handle the thrust transmitted to the generator by the turbine or gearbox. The journal bearings are a tilting pad type journal bearing similar to those used for the thrust bearing. The cooling system can be either integral to the generator or via an external heat exchanger. The system would be heat balanced ensuring adequate cooling for the generator. The generator health is monitored using PT100 sensors mounted in the generator. The externally terminated power cables leave the generator via glands in the main body. The exterior of the generator can be supplied in a variety of materials to meet the project specification and required corrosion resistance. Edit Products Down-Down Menu
