In 1971,based on the license from ALCO, Auburn, NY (USA), started the assimilation of ALCO series 251 engines, with 6, 8, 12, 16 and 18 cylinders, 250 Hp/cylinder, in a power range between 740 and
4,000 HP at 720-1,100 rpm, for several applications: locomotives, Diesel Gen sets, marine and river propulsion, etc.
Type of Diesel engines manufactured: 6 R 251, 8 R 251, 12 R 251, 16 R 251, in the range of 1500 and 4000 HP.
Type of Diesel engines manufactured: 6 LDSR 28, 12 LDSR 28, 12 LDS 28.
The manufacture of high-speed Diesel engines started in 1960 based on the production of LDA28 family engines, with a bore of 280 mm, with 12 cylinders and 6 cylinders, in the range of 850-2500 HP at 750 rpm. Their purpose was to drive the 2100 HP Diesel locomotives and the 1250 HP hydraulic locomotives.
