NOTICE: Per the KOHLER Generator Distributor/Dealer agreement, Distributors are required to provide Startup and Warranty service on the Kohler equipment regardless of point of sale.
Furthermore, Kohler cannot refuse to Warranty the products because they choose to not have a KOHLER Startup
performed. Warranty begins upon date of purchase of the unit, not the date of installation/start-up as it would if a KOHLER Startup was performed.
KOHLER 's purpose of requesting that a KOHLER distributor or dealer perform the Startup is to ensure that the customer's equipment has been properly installed, thus helping to prevent problems.
If you employ a qualified and competent electrician that you trust, then you should have no problems. However, if problems arise and the owner puts in a
Warranty Call, and it is determined that the failure is due to improper installation issues, then the problem will not be covered on Warranty (see warranty statement above). If it is determined
that the problem is equipment failure due to no fault by the owner, then it will be repaired on Warranty (see warranty statement above).
Kohler Warranty calls nationwide are so infrequent as to not warrant comment.
KOHLER is 'Made in the USA' and arguable the highest quality and highest reliability generators available.
