PVC Insulated Power/Control Cables:
"midlite' Brand power/control cables are manufactured using high grade PVC compound, these cables are manufactured in conformance with BIS specification No. IS:1554 Part -1/88 for working voltages
upto & including 1100 Volts.
Construction:
Conductor:
The conductor of these cables is generally made from EC grade Aluminium / High Conductivity Annealed copper conductors. Both aluminium & copper conductor conforms to BIS specification IS:8130-1984.
The conductor may be solid/stranded/bunched as per the requirements.
Insulation:
The conductors are insulated with high grade PVC compound as per IS:5831-1984 applied by extrusion.
Inner Sheath:
The laid-up cores are provided with the PVC sheathing either by extrusion or by wrapping of plastic proofed tapes. Single core cables do not have inner sheath.
Armouring:
Armouring is provided over inner sheath for multi-core cables and it is done over insulation for single core cables. Where the calculated diameter below armouring does not exceed 13 mm, the armour
consists of galvanized round steel wires or galvanized steel strips as per customer's requirement.
Outer Sheath:
The outer sheath of PVC is applied by extrusion over the insulation in case of unarmoured single core cables, over the inner sheath in case of unarmoured multicore cables and over the armouring in
case of armoured cables.
The current carrying capacity or loading of cables & conductors is limited by the thermal, electrical and other associated losses provided by the conductor, insulation ,protective covering &
surroundings.
