Batteries play the most important role out of all system components. They are the foundation of a Renewable Energy System. It is a common misconception that the battery bank can be "cheaper" or of less quality than the rest of the components. (like using car batteries or used batteries or cheap RV batteries) This is not true! A common rule of thumb is that if you increase your battery cost by 50%, battery life increases 2-3 times. It is essential to the rest of the system that the battery bank is properly sized based on your system loads.
