CURRENT TRANSFORMERS

The currents drawn from supply by an electrical installation or a machine are usually too high to be measured directly. The current transformers are used to decrease the levels of such high currents to the levels that the measuring instruments or the current protection devices instruments. Another function of the current transformers is to provide a high insulation between the measured current and measurement/protective device.

To fulfill the customer demand, ECS brand current transformers are produced to have various specifications varying according to:

a) The primary currents : The range is from 5A to 4,000A
b) The secondary currents : 0.1A, 1A, and 5A (5A is
the standard value)
c) The accuracy classes : Cl 0.5 and Cl 1.0
d) The burdens : 5VA, 10VA and 15 VA

According to the customer demand, ECS brand current transformers are produced are either in a plastic enclosure or as a torus type. Each transformer are tested one by one as per the standard requirement, the test reports prepared and one copy of which is submitted to the customer.
