The transformers are mainly used for the generation and supply of electricity from power stations through to consumers, with rectifier transformers being used for industrial, steel works and traction applications. Furnace transformers (induction) are used in the mining industry. Every unit is fully tested in accordance with SABS and other standard specifications and test certificates are available on request. Distribution transformers in addition, carry the SABS mark of approval which means our factories are subject to regular routine visits by SABS inspectors

Our standard range includes from 50kVA to 10 000kVA in voltages up to 66kV with off-load tap-switch or on- load tap-changers. In addition we do Special application units for mining, industrial; rectifier/traction, converter and thyristor drive applications.
The exact dimensions of our transformers vary from time to time as we are continually reviewing and improving our designs to reduce cost and enhance performance. Dimensions will however always be within the SABS recommendations.
