Plastic Film Capacitors

SAMCAP Capacitors are automatically tested as per IS 13340 and periodic statistical Type test are carried out to assure high reliability of all units. Power Factor is the ratio of True Power (or active power KW) consumed to the apparent power (KVA).

Each cell is made of Metalized Polypropylene film, encased in aluminium cans, impregnated with a non toxic biodegradable fluid and equipped with a reliable explosion proof bellow cutout device. This below cuts on the individual cell from the main circuit before the Capacitor explodes. The terminals of these Modular type Capacitors are made from thermal grade, self extinguishable, thermoplastic, and have strends to prevent flash over between terminals. The external case is made of sheet-steel with welded joints and oven baked Siemens Grey, epoxy matt finish.

SAMCAP Modular type of Power Factor Correction Capacitors are extremely reliable and safe. The construction facilities, includes replacement of cell/maintenance at site. Each Modular type Capacitors has single phase capacitor cells which are connected in delta through series reactors. SAMCAP Dry Capacitor (SH). The elements are encapsulated in epoxy resin. The Biodegradable Non PCB Oil ensure good cooling and Self healing properties. These basic features gives linger life and better reliability.

The Ends are sprayed with layers of Zinc and Tin to give good current handling properties.
