PALATINE, ILThe Sunbrite Group ofLumex, Inc. is announcing new ChipStripLEDs tm,modular, stackable light sources for signage, decorative lightingand channel letter illumination. These low profile, high intensityunits contain state-of-the-art LEDs, and provide multiple advantagesover conventional incandescent or neon lighting in both indoor andoutdoor lighting applications. They also facilitate the creation ofcompletely new lighting concepts for architectural, theater, anddecorative illumination designs.Unlike the neon and incandescent light sources they replace,Sunbrite's ChipStripLEDs are solid-state devices with an operatinglife in excess of 100,000 hours. This reduces the need for periodicreplacement or maintenance. ChipStripLEDs don't generate the highheat levels associated with incandescent bulbs, and they eliminate thebulky high-voltage power sources required by neon. They consume lesspower than incandescent or neon lighting.Sunbrite ChipStripLEDs provide a brightness level comparable toneon and they are available in a full range of colors including green,yellow, blue, red and white. This new lighting technology uses LEDswith a 120 degree viewing angle, reducing the number of LEDs requiredto maintain a uniform light emission level. The result is a furtherreduction in power consumption.Each unit contains four high-intensity LEDs mounted in a plastichousing measuring 83mm x 16.7mm (3.27-inch x 0.66-inch), and isequipped with standard spade lugs on both ends. Operating voltage is12 VDC.The ChipStripLEDs are part of the Sunbrite Group'sdiverse new offering of illumination products based on the latesthigh-output LEDs.
