INTRODUCTION
This application note describes the use and handling of AMCOM MMIC power
amplifiers AM012535MM-BM-R. The amplifier is housed in a 10-pin low cost
surface mountable, ceramic package (BM), see Figure 1. The MMIC can be
handled by standard pick and place equipment. AM012535MM-BM-R is an
ultra-broadband MMIC PA that covers from 30MHz to 2.5GHz in a single band. It is
fully RF matched to 50-ohm input and output impedance. Because the MMIC
works down to low frequency of 30MHz, a few components for the DC bias circuits
are required externally. This MMIC is RoHS compliant.
ELECTRICAL SCHEMATIC
Figure 2 shows the detailed schematic and pin assignment of AM012535MM-BM-R. External DC decoupling and
filtering components are added to ensure stability of the amplifier and to prevent any possible spurious signal due
to noisy supplies. A good ground is required for maintaining stability. The following table describes the pin
assignment of the amplifier. An Autocad file is available at our web address for the PCB
and assembly layout.
