Field Sequential LCD, or FS LCD, is a new technology that uses current TN technology to produce up to 8 colors. The unique color changing segment makes use of fully customizable TN display
solutions, without the use of color filters. The LCD module contains integrated RGB LED backlight & controller and LCD controller.
How FS LCD works
The principle of a sequential color LCD is based on the sequential RGB backlight. The LCD is turn on and off according to the sequence of the RGB backlight to generate the required colors.
This timing sequence is managed by an on-board MCU. Therefore, the developing engineer only needs to know how to control the LCD. This makes the transition from current segmented black and white
display to a differentiated color display very fast, easy and cost effective.
