We are now authorized by Elbit to produce these specialized lightguides, adding them to our already wide scope of optical components.

With this goal in mind we purchased our new machine which when added to our production facilities enabled us to design and produce lightguides for the backlighting of LCD screens.

After a long period of refurbishing inaccurate lightguides produced in the Far East, Scopustech decided to develop a production line which could compete with these vendors, supplying Elbit Systems LTD with a superior product.

Scopustech has been developing such bonding techniques for several years; having realized the potential we are investing in the infrastructure needed and will be ready for production by the start of 2006.

This usually entails the addition of stiffening plate in front and sometimes behind the LCD screen.            There are several constraints applied to this bonding: good adhesion in a wide temperature range, optical clarity with index matching to substrates, complex sealing at screen edges and more.

LCD screens are delicate and often require Hardening to withstand vandalism or for outdoor/military applications.
