This board has been specifically design for driving motorized wheel chairs and relatively larger robots. The board uses relay H-Bridges to control direction and Hi-Current IGFET?s to control speed of high power DC motors. There?s an on board microcontroller which obeys commands sent from a host computer or a high level micro controller via serial interface. A 12C CAN network of microcontrollers can also be arranged using the serial interface. The resident microcontroller can free the host computer from low-level tasks such as monitoring obstacles avoidance sensors, tactile sensor, and optical encoders through its 5 pin in-put ports. A fuse is included to safe guard the board from short circuiting and there are six LED?s on board for blank testing of the motor control program. MHP-51 controller is designed to convert commands received from a R/C radio, Joystick, wireless modem, or microcomputer into high voltage and high current output for driving two heavy duty DC motors.
