The BB-150 may be mounted behind common non-metallic building materials such as plywood, MDF, and drywall, although this might result in a slight reduction in the maximum range available. Again,
the BB-150 should be temporarily installed and tested prior to final mounting.

Indicator: Red LED lights when output relay is closed
In general, the BB-150 should be mounted above, and aimed at, the area to be covered. A red LED light visible on the BB-150 assists in aiming and adjustment. It is recommended that the BB-150 be powered up, and temporarily mounted in the proposed location to ensure proper operation prior to permanent mounting.
The BB-150 operates from any power source capable of supplying 12 to 28 volts, either AC or DC at 100milliamps. Any of the Museum Technology products employing the RJ-11 (telephone) modular plug system is able to directly supply the necessary power, or an external wall-mount power supply may be used.

Based on the Doppler radar principle, the BB-150 provides a compact and reliable method of detecting when a visitor approaches an exhibit. Unlike passive infra-red (PIR) detectors used in burglar
alarms and driveway lights, the low power radar beam may be aimed to cover a specific area. Also, the range, or sensitivity, is easily adjusted over a range of approximately 3 to 15 feet. In this
way, the exhibit is started only when a person is within the appropriate range.
