Serial point-to-point interfaces such as EnDat or the popular SSI are examples of other communication interfaces often used for position feedback from absolute coded encoders.

These interfaces are available on the Model 600 Series absolute coded singleturn or multiturn encoders. A robust mechanical design in shaft or hollow shaft design ensures that installation and start-up of these models are always reduced to a minimum.

Field bus interfaces based on Ethernet, PROFIBUS or CAN are examples of the communication protocols often used in automation.
