The 3N1 Sensor is so named because it combines the features of 3 individual sensors: the Grid Sensor, the Trawl Speed Sensor and the Symmetry Sensor. The Grid Sensor function measures grid angle and water flow through the trawl. When placed on the grid at the back of the cod end, the sensor indicates the cod end filling rate. The Trawl Speed Sensor function measures water flow through the trawl opening and tunnel so that the true trawl speed may be adjusted based upon prevailing currents and tides. The Symmetry Sensor function measures the direction and strength of cross currents entering the trawl. Cross current effects can then be reduced to zero by adjusting the warp lengths, thereby ensuring optimal trawl performance. The 3N1 is a very effective multi-functional sensor for twin-rigged and pair trawls. Compatible with Scanmar HC4-TSS (trawl speed), HC4-SY (symmetry) and HC4-GS (grid).
