Compressor Lube

Losing oil can and will cause total breakdown.

For spray painters this is fatal, for they do not need oil in their beautiful paint work.

In turn it damages the element to such an extend as to where is start to leak and oil is lost into the pipeline. 

This causes the oil to make microscopic crystals, thus making microscopic holes in the separator element. 

This causes the unit to become hot and overheat. In many instances if the unit become overheated, then the oil also tends to flash, if the flash point is too low. 

If the oil is not designed for a screw air compressor, it cannot cool the unit properly. 

1. A screw compressor need to be well cooled while working. This is why the cooling system must be in correct and clean condition at all times. The lubricant play a fairly large part. Except that the oil lubricates all working parts of the compressor, it also captures air from the atmosphere in the screw elements. Air is trapped in the oil while the unit runs. By making use of a separator element, the oil and the air is separated. The air is directed to the delivery line, and the oil is returned to the compressor air end unit to capture more air. If the wrong oil is used, this could become a problem.
