Solar Thermal systems are the simplest and most versatile form of solar energy system. People have been using the sun to heat water for thousands of years. The modern concept is still fairly simple, with a little help from technology. Collectors use the sun's energy to heat water or air for use in a variety of applications including domestic hot water, radiant heating, forced air heating, and pool and spa heating, An example of using hot air instead of water is our NGE-126-TA hot air panels. They use heated air and a PV fan module to heat and circulate air into a room or space. You can even use thermal solar system to create electricity by using mirrored parabolic troughs to super heat water to create steam that turns turbines to generate electricity. That is known as CSP or concentrated solar power and is used in large scale power generation. For smaller applications, there are two types of systems; drainback systems, and pressurized systems.
