PERCENTAGES
Asphalt is granulated before delivery.
Not blocks.
Asphalt macadam containing granules according to the European standard EN 13108-8.
Content in percentages of asphalt granules:
Stones> 2 mm approximately 53% (m / m)
Gravel> 0063 mm -> 2 mm approximately 37% (m / m)
Padding <0.063 mm about 10% (m / m)
Bitumen approximately 5% (m / m)
Asphalt granulate is formed by a mixture of different types of macadam that was used in the past in the Netherlands. Contains gravel, granite, stubborn, basalt, limestone, sandstone and
diorite.
Most of the stones have a polished stone value of> 55.
THE ECONSTONE is a source of recycled aggregate asphalt combined with a higher percentage of its membership more than 5% of bitumen.
Its most direct application is in road construction. Is achieved with the generation of a first class asphalt pavement to be replaced by physical and chemical characteristics to traditional asphalt
paving.
Technically the structure of an asphalt pavement or flexible pavement structure l is a set of layers of asphalt mixtures and aggregates selected located on the earthworks. Asphalt pavements are
those with a surface layer of aggregates involved in agglomerated with bitumen, with a minimum thickness of 25 mm layer of lift.
Econstone comes from the existing pavement. Consists of gravel, aggregate, bitumen and sand. It is milled to a size 0 ---- 31.5 mm or the size requested.
Econstone is often used as a sub-base for pavement construction.
Eco stands for ecological sustainable, because:
* "Replaces new mineral, meaning that the original minerals in the areas of origin, be preserved."
* "Reduce CO2 emissions if the material is used in sub-bases, as this will reduce the preparation of hot asphalt for the top layer.
This means less production of asphalt plants, thus lower emissions. Economically perhaps Econstone because it is cheaper than traditional gravel.
The stabilization Econstone is a frequent application of the granules. For purposes of stabilization, Econstone can be mixed with cement, bitumen emulsion, bitumen foam or other binding agent.
The sub-bases to have stabilized to improve the quality of the pavement and one of the advantages is that you can apply thin layers of hot asphalt preparation (expensive) to achieve the same
quality of construction.
Therefore, we can achieve significant savings with regard to raw materials, construction costs, tax processing and pollution (CO2).
Econstone means a saving when used as sub-base preparation of asphalt (hot) to the upper layer.
Econstone is certified by the EC in accordance with NEN EN 13242 (Aggregates for hydraulically bound materials for use in civil engineering and road construction).
Availability of large quantities of this grain in stock. Thanks to our stock and knowledge of the subject, we can satisfy any need.
