STABILITY AND REACTIVITY
Romix BTA is stable under normal conditions of use.
 TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
Long term experience of handling this class of product under Industrial conditions indicates the absence of any chronic or acute effects.
 ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION
Romix BTA is totally miscible with water and will be progressively diluted if admitted to waterways. The base polymer is slowly biodegraded. Low concentrations of Romix BTA are unlikely to reduce sludge activity in sewage treatment. The mixture will be largely absorbed on the sludge and is consequently removed from the waste water. In low concentrations (< 500mg/l), the product exhibits low toxicity to fish.

DISPOSAL INFORMATION
Romix BTA is not classified as hazardous waste. The emulsion can be coagulated with alum of calcium chloride and separated from the aqueous phase for disposal by a waste management company. Existing national and local regulations must be complied with.

Romix BTA is classified as low hazardous for transportation.

ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Spillages should not be washed into any drain unless it leads to a suitable effluent treatment process. Residues and spillages should be absorbed with sand or rags (before the emulsion is allowed to dry).
 HANDLING AND STORAGE
1 HANDLING : Romix BTA should be handled in accordance with good industrial safety and hygiene practices. Small levels of volatile organic compounds may accumulate in the head space of containers which should be opened in ventilated surroundings.
STORAGE : Containers should be well sealed to prevent evaporation of water and the formation of skin on the surface. The product should be stored under cover and at a temperature above freezing.
EXPOSURE CONTROLS AND PERSONAL PROTECTION
Normal conditions of ventilation are usually adequate.
Normal protective clothing (gloves and overalls) are usually adequate. Safety glasses are recommended.
Respiratory equipment is not required unless handling the product in an enclosed area.
