Equilon Enterprises LLC is a joint venture of Shell Oil Company and Texaco Inc (Shell 56%, Texaco 44%). The joint venture combines the major elements of the two companies' former Western and Midwestern U. S. refining and marketing businesses and their nationwide transportation and lubricants businesses.

Shellflex Oils are severely refined petroleum fractions, exhibiting very consistent sets of physical and chemical properties. Shellflex Oils include both paraffinic oils and naphthenic oils. Paraffinic oils exhibit high concentrations of saturates, offering good stability and modest solvency. Naphthenic oils are rich in cyclic structures, exhibit naturally low pour points, have good stability and offer improved solvency characteristics over paraffinic oils.
