Since filters are designed to remove contaminants, to ensure maximum efficiency, filter elements must be inspected, cleaned and/or replaced at regular intervals and the bowl must be cleaned. Filter elements can be removed without disconnecting tubing lines. To service, remove oil line pressure and unscrew the bowl to remove the element.

Maintenance

The filters must be installed in a vertical position for settling of contaminants into the bowl. In centralized oil lubrication systems, filters must be installed in the main distribution line between the lubricator and the first application points.
