How Does the ZAS Work? Many water saving devices work by restricting the flow of the water through a thimble-like washer. While this does save water, it also reduces the flow of the water down to a trickle. The tap is turned on for a longer period of time and one does not enjoy a shower with a slow, limp trickle of water. With time, chlorine and hot water (for showers) passing through them, the performance of these water saving devices deteriorate resulting in a slower flow rate. The ZAS system functions in 2 ways. Where the water pressure is high, the patent pending device is able to regulate the flow of water such that it reduces the amount of water coming out of the taps and shower heads.
