Our company have developed a technology, called Reverse Polymerization whereby, the scrap tires are processed into three products: -Hydrocarbons (oil and gas)Carbon blackSteelThis is achieved using the patented process that uses direct application of high-energy microwaves in a nitrogen environment. The oxygen-depleted environment prevents the formation of hazardous bi-products (e. G. Dioxins and furans) that can form from oxidation processes. This Technology is highly controllable as the microwave magnetrons have a variable output of up to 1.45 kW each. Each magnetron is individually controllable to apply the appropriate amount of energy to the scrap tire feed. The tire reduction system is extremely flexible and facilities are designed in 1,500 tire/day modules. The model processes 6,000 tires daily (over 2,000,000 tires annually), reclaiming approximately 22.5 tons (20.5 tonnes) of carbon black,6 tons (5.5 tonnes) of steel and up to 31.5 tons (28.6 tonnes) of hydrocarbons daily with a net power production capacity of 3.0 MW.This technology of scrap tires breaks down 100% of the scrap tire feed into three components that have commercial value:Recycled Carbon Black.Scrap Steel.Hydrocarbons.The recycled carbon black is a mixture of the original grades used to manufacture the original tires. Tire production uses 65% to 70% of world carbon black production which represents more than 6,800,000 tons annually (6,200,000 tonnes/year). The quality of the carbon black produced by this technology is superior to other recycling methods, such as paralysis. The carbon black has many practical applications in the production of tires and other products.The recycled carbon black recovered from the scrap tire feed represents 38% of the input mass. With typical carbon black prices ranging from $0.20 to $0.90 US, this will generate a revenue stream from carbon black sales of $3 million to $9 million US per year.The scrap steel remaining at the end of this process is unchanged from the material used in the original tire production and can be sold for scrap and recycled for the production of new products. The scrap metal recovered represents 10% of the input feed.The hydrocarbons generated from this process include both a gaseous phase and light synthetic crude oil. The gaseous phase consists of low molecular weight short-chain hydrocarbons (methane, ethane, propane and butane) that provide a very hot and very clean burn (1,600 BTU/SCF). The synthetic oil has a heating value of 19,000 BTU/lb and is similar to a light crude oil. The hydrocarbons can be used to generate electricity or sold as other valuable feed stocks.Potential revenues are generated from five sources:Sale of the recycled carbon blackPower generation and/or sale of the hydrocarbonsTire tipping feeSale of the recovered scrap steelSale of greenhouse gas creditsIt offers a profitable and environmentally responsible method to address the growing scrap tire problem.
