GAFCOs Standard & High Capacity Models

HEPA filters are available in both Standard and High Capacity models, both models are constructed from Micro fine fiber media formed into high density paper, continuous sheets are pleated to provide a high ratio of media to face area, media layers are separated by corrugated aluminum separators and assembled in 16 gauge galvanized frames, The filter pack is bonded to the frame by a fire-retardant potted design resulting
in a rigid leak free assembly.

HEPA Testing:

Each HEPA Filter is individually tested with thermally generated DOP, our HEPA models are scanned and confirmed to have a certified minimum efficiency of 99.97% on a 0.3 micrometer particle, and a 99.999% efficiency on a 0.3 micrometer particle.

GAFCOs High capacity 2000 HEPA filter was designed for optimum performance and offers low pressure drop for Energy saving and longer service life, Reducing Filter Pressure Drop decreases Energy Costs, Pressure Drop is a term used to describe the decrease in pressure from one point in a pipe to another downstream, in Filtration it is due to Air and Filter friction, producing High efficiency filters is not where the challenge resides, usually more blockage equals better filtration, yet producing High Efficiency Filters with low Pressure Drops is where the challenge resides!

GAFCOs 2000 high capacity series is available in 12 depth only. It is designed with special low amplitude corrugated aluminum separators, the filter has 40% more media area than the standard series and operates at 500 FPM (2000 CFM for a 24x24 size) at 1.35WG clean pressure drop versus conventional Alpha Cell filters that operate at 300 FPM and 1.0WG clean pressure drop, this High Capacity Model operates at low velocities and therefore provides longer service life.

GAFCO 2000 filters require less space. A typical 8000 CFM filter bank requires eight standard filters, The same system could be designed with four high capacity GAFCO 2000 filters.
