The Ghanaian Government has set 2009 as the target date for all
wastewater to be treated and subjected to norms that regulate the
discharge of industrial wastewater into the sewage systems, lakes,
rivers and ocean. Compliance estimates 90.8% for 2010.
The Government of Ghana received a Loan from International Development
Association (IDA) and the fund has been budgeted for the building 9
Water/Wastewater treatment in Accra, Kumasi and Takarodi,Asamankese
among other places;equipment supplies and services.
Principal Sub Sectors:
*Wastewater Treatment Equipment and products.
*Physical, Mechanical, Bioreactor, Nitrates/phosphate,
Oil/grease,Clarifier Treatment
*Water re-utilization systems for Industrial and Agricultural use
(Soil & groundwater).
*Drinking water supply systems.
*Water Treatment Chemicals,COB/BOD reduction and Odor control.
