The HE/7000 is designed with three complete modules: (1) oil/water separation; (2) a polishing loop for hydrocarbon removal; (3) a polishing loop for metals removal. As dirty water enters the HE/7000, it is slows down, thus allowing the solids to fall to the bottom of the coalescing tank and the oil water separation to begin. Gravity causes the oily water to flow through 76,896 square inches of oil coalescing plates. These plates allow the oil to gather together into large droplets where they can float to the surface and be mechanically skimmed from the water. Virtually oil-free water then flows into a multi media-polishing loop, which reduces light and emulsified hydrocarbons to less than 10 ppm. The water then moves to a polishing loop for metals reduction. Dual polishing loops circulate water at 50 GPM assuring multiple passes through the job-specific media which prepares the water for recycling or direct to sewer discharge. This unit provides a polishing filtration system.
