SOFTENING A typical water softener uses a technique known as "ion exchange". That is, it removes calcium and magnesium ions by replacing them with sodium ions. Although this does technically make water softer, ion exchange water softening removes calcium and magnesium to produce softened water. Unlike hard water, softened water will not leave any residue or scale on things it comes in contact with. Everest Water Solution offers water softening systems for the home, restaurants, and industrial applications.
