So what is seafood? Seafood is any sea invertebrate (mollusks and crustaceans) that is suitable for eating. As well as fish, seafood is considered a depositary of polyunsaturated fatty acids that are so important for our organisms. Although seafood contains rather big quantity of cholesterol, the same as meat, it is neutralized by the big quantity of fatty acids that it also contains, so our heart and vessels are protected against heart and apoplectic attacks and other diseases. These acids are good for people who suffer from asthma, arthritis and lung diseases. Seafood is a wonderful source of iodine and protein. But it takes you about five hours to digest the meat protein, and only two or three hours to digest the protein of the seafood.
