Mint

The mint leaves have a delicate, fresh, aromatic, flavour with a cool aftertaste. During the middle ages itself, mint was used as a medicinal herb to treat stomach ache and chest pains and the powdered mint leaves were used to whiten teeth. Today mint is in great demand for flavouring confectionary, chewing gum, cigarettes and very popular in aromatherapy. Menthol from mint essential oil is an ingredient of many cosmetics and some perfumes.
