The Tehama County Blend is produced from Mission and Ascolana variety olives grown within miles of our mill in Tehama County. It is our flagship product and our most popular and widely distributed
oil. It is buttery and fruity, with a subtle peppery finish, and is an elegant oil that works with virtually everything. It will accentuate different flavors with different foods and is excellent
for salad dressings, bread-dipping, light pan frying, and oven roasting. We harvest the Mission olive late in the season to get viscous buttery oil that's low in the bitterness and pungency and
blend it with the early harvest Ascolana, which provides a range of fruity overtones including citrus, nut, artichoke, and avocado. This oil pairs well with light red and white wines, especially
Beaujolais, Tempranillo, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay. Gold Medal Winner 2005 and 2006 "Olive Oils of the World Competition' at the Los Angeles County Fair.
