Cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum) is an evergreen tree reaching to a height of 615m. Cinnamon and cassia are the oldest known spices. The dried inner barks of these two species are the products of commerce. The oldest cinnamon plantation is the Anjarakandy estate (250ha) in Kannur district of Kerala.
