The primary raw materials used in Seemanns products are pork, beef, spices, vegetable margarine and cake flour. Most of these materials are sourced from local suppliers.

Seemanns outsources the majority of its distribution to third party contractors but also operates its own delivery fleet for local deliveries.

Seemanns prepares and manufactures its meat products from two plants in Johannesburg. It also operates two speciality delicatessen stores with adjacent dining areas, from which it sell its products to the general public. These two retail outlets account for approximately 38% of this divisions turnover.

Seemanns, with the assistance of German trained Fleischmeisters, is a producer of superior quality German-style sausages and processed meat products, including hams and salamis, a range of sausages, specially prepared cuts of meat, as well as branded and private label processed and sliced meats. It also produces a range of pork-based sausage and pie fillings for the Piemans Pantry division.
