All of our cattle are fed an all-natural diet which contains no antibiotics, hormones, or steroids. The pastures on which they browse and the hay they are wintered on are not sprayed with chemical pesticides or herbicides.
All of our cattle are raised and handled with individuality and understanding. We like our cattle as gentle as possible because a calm, trusting animal not only proves to our customers that they are treated with care and patience, but we firmly believe that every ounce of kindness given returns a pound of better beef to the producer. (For over half a century, published science has proven that something as simple as having a quietspoken, kind caretaker makes cattle gain weight faster than if they have a loud, mean, or indifferent handler.)
All of our cattle are either born right on our ranch, or are bought as calves or weanlings from other Walla Walla Valley family-owned ranches, whose ties in the local communtity run deep. We strive to preserve and present to you the best our area's proud ranching heritage can provide.
You might be wondering what makes our beef different from the beef available at the grocery store. -In one word, EVERYTHING!
If you are interested in purchasing a beef or have any questions, please contact Leigh Anne by phone at 509.386.0662, or send her an email, .
Our regular butcher is Jerry Haun, of Haun's Meats on Stateline Road. If you would like to get his current prices for cut and wrap, and any specialty services such as sausage or jerky making, feel free to give him a call at 509.525.6605 during regular business hours.
Most of our customers prefer the more natural grass-finished beef, so please keep in mind that if grain-finishing is desired by a customer, they will need to specifically talk to us about this far enough in advance of the butcher date for this to be feasable. Also, please understand that, due to the extra cost and labor, we can only grain-finish a beef as long as it is all spoken for! (In otherwords, if one customer wants a quarter of a grain finished beef, but we don't receive enough other requests for grain-finishing to sell the other three quarters as well, we won't be able to fill their order.)
We offer beef to you directly from our ranch. Currently, we have quarters, halves, and wholes available for reservation. (If you have never purchased locker beef before, you might find some very useful information on our Frequently Asked Questions page.) The majority of our steers are usually finished out and ready to butcher between late September and early November. For our fall 2009 season we currently have 6 Angus/Hereford cross steers and one Hereford steer that will be long yearlings (approximately 18 months old) when they become available for purchase. They are raised and finished on pasture and grass/alfalfa hay. Our beef is antibiotic, steroid, and hormone free.
