Imported 17H 4 yr old Friesian top DressageGelding. Leffert 306 pref x Hearke 254 pref mare, full paperster/pref/pref, 2nd premie, full set of clean xrays, 16.3-17H, justturned four years old. I looked at a few thousand horses in Hollandbefore coming home with this one. Sjoerd is currently schooling 2ndlevel (supple and sensitive, currently working shoulder in, half passin trot and canter, travers, counter canter) with a former professionaltrainer. Sjoerd is a forward and light footed mover with elastic andelegant strides- correct movement to excel in upper level dressage.Very comfortable to ride and easy in the hands. He has excellenttransitions, and an impressive canter he can pick up immediately from awalk (most friesians find canter to be difficult- not this horse!). Histrot is collected, full of expression, and has wonderful cadence with apowerful spring off his feet. His super sensitive and intelligentpersonality makes him responsive and a very quick learner who loves towork (Sjoerd may still be a baby at just turning 4 last week, but thishorse will try his hardest to do what you ask- he's a joy to train). Iwould think an amateur could do his training provided they are a strongrider who gives clear instructions; his temperament is suitable for abeginner as well if they didn't mind progressing at a slower pace. Hehas lots of hair, possesses a sweet and loving character, well manneredthat anyone can handle him, he's good for transport, good for thefarrier, good for baths. Always 100% sound, always reliable, and it iswith great sadness he has to be sold, due to an overseas move. It goeswithout saying Sjoerd is impressive and beautiful now, but he's just apreview of what he'll look like in a few more years when he fills outand masters so many more movements.
