  • Neufchatel cheese was named after the town in France where it originated. An early version of Cream Cheese was most likely discovered by collecting the soured cream off the top of the sour milk. With the advent of the mechanical centrifuge (separator) our current more refined Cream Cheese was developed and mass produced.

    Fonterra cream cheese is manufactured by fermentation of pasteurised whole milk and fresh cream and hot packed for extended shelf life.

    It has many features such as:
    • Imparts good cream cheese flavour to product
    • Is produced in a sophisticated processing plant to ensure product consistency
    • Good shelf life in high quality packaging
    • Anchor Cream Cheese contains only 30% fat but still provides a creamy flavour profile similar to butter (80% fat)
    • A versatile product with a neutral flavour base that easily allows the addition of other ingredients guaranteeing flexible preparation time.
    With benefits of the following:
    • Enhances flavour and adds body to cheese cakes
    • Adds moisture to baked products
    • An economical base that can be used to extend the profile flavour of your chosen dish or to bulk out the more expensive ingredients
    • Anchor Cream Cheese not only tastes great, but is able to quickly blend in cooking applications.
    • It blends and aerates well, giving a good yield, mouth feel and finished appearance.
    • It enhances the flavour put into cheesecakes and other products while not overwhelming the finished product.
    The ingredients are 11.5% Fat Milk, Starter, Stabiliser, salt and it comes with the size of Block - 12 x 1kg , 4 x 5kg,1 x 20kg.

    The storage provided is:
    • Provided the packaging seal is unbroken and the cream cheese is stored and transported at 2C, the cream cheese will be suitable as a dairy ingredient for at least 12 months after the date of manufacture.
    • Store in original package, tub or foil.
    • Consume within 2-3 weeks of opening
    • Freezing is not recommended unless used in cooked foods such as pastries, cheesecakes and quiches.
    It has a Shelf Life Indicator of 12 months from date of manufacture when stored under manufacturer conditions.

    It is compliance with Halal and Kosher approved. Allergens would be milk products.
