This tea comes from China's Fuding county, and has been handharvested and withered using the traditional method. It is fresh, delicious and best of all - because it is unblended from lower grades - offers an entirely different experience from common white teas.Unblended and AuthenticUnlike the teas you would buy elsewhere, this Silver Needle tea is unblended and 100% authentic. What this means is that white tea of this quality is usually unavailable from retailers. This is because tea farm usually uses the higher grade to mix with lower grade to increase the overall quality. If they sell the higher grade on its own, the lower grade will not be good enough.Because I am just a tiny tea merchat, I am able to obtain a small quantity of this tea. Naturally, I am more than happy to share it with my community of tea readers!Sun Withered OrganicAs you would expect from the best of white tea, this organic certified tea is made using the traditional Fuding method: it is withered by sun shine, and in case of cloudy weather, withered indoors. The production for white tea is much affected by the weather condition. It is affected also by wind direction. The best wind direction is south wind, since it brings more moisture.Handpicked Early HarvestThis batch of tea is handpicked and harvested on the April 2th 2008. It is an AA grade. A fantastic mid-grade tea, this AA grade tastes fresh, fruity and rich.(The first pick is harvested on 25th March and will probably cost more than 30 dollars. I will ship it in 2009, so if you are interested, subscribe to my newsletter.)Customer FeedbackMy customer Sigurd reviewed this tea and recommended a higher price tag.Silver Needle Tea - My $34 Versus Julian's $10 Discovery? My discriminating customer Stig Rasmussen from Denmark, summarised its pleasant hay-like flavour as follows in June 2008:The Baohai Yinzheng AA is a very pleasant tea, starting with a slightly hay-like fragrance ringed by a hint of mint, followed up by a mild taste of blended spices, maybe cinnamon and cardamom, before ending in a discrete herbal acidity. It is "tea-like" in the Western style than the other high quality teas offered by you. - I wish for a Wang [King] grade some day!. In the second infusion I do not find the mild spices, only herbal notes and the palate-refreshing acidity. Dick from Alaska rate the AA grade 4 out of 5 in July 2008:Just wanted to let you know that we got the tea. Thank you it's very good.I have not had alot of experience with white tea having had only one other type. I would think that I would rate it a 4 as it brews multiple batches nicely with a sweet aroma and good flavor.Feel free to publish my feed back.Limited Offer! This tea has 1 kilogram left.
