Green Tea

Genmaicha is a combination of fukamushi sencha tea leaves mixed with puffed brown rice, which adds a delicious popcorn and roasted grain flavor. When brewed, this tea has a golden yellow green color. Due to the rice, Genmaicha has the rich and hearty flavor of roasted grains. This also makes a good breakfast tea.

Organic green tea is grown at CHIRAN town in Kagoshima prefecture in Kyusyu Island. The tea in these areas has a brand name ???CHIRAN TEA?? generally in Japan. Japanese green tea was produced total 91,800 ton. Kagoshima tea was produced 23,300 ton in 2006 which was 25.4% in productivity, second in Japan (Shizuoku is the primary one 40,000 ton, 43.6 %).

Our farmer, Mr. Orita has a firm belief in ???the best environment for the earth" produces safety and healthy tea since 20 years ago. Thus he has never used agricultural chemicals and adopted organic farming in all fields since then. As a result, big news has been spread out and he has won the prize of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries continuously for 3 years from 1996 to 1998.

Due to quality excellence and good practice in farming, Mr. Orita has won the following prizes. In 1997 commendation at all over Japan green tea competitive exhibition. In 1998 commendation by Governor of Kyoto at all over Japan green tea competitive exhibition. In 1998 commendation by the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries at all over Japan green tea competitive exhibition. In 1996 commendation by Governor of Shizuoka at all over Japan green tea competitive exhibition.
