This traditional Dong Ding Oolong tea is a hand-made artisan tea, with an unforgettable taste and supreme aroma. It is a spectacular choice for the Oolong tea lover.
It is said Dong Ding Oolong brought back from Fujian province by promoted scholar (Jui Ren ) Fong Chi Lin from Lugu County in year 1885 when he came back from China pass by from Wu Yi Mt and brought back the 36 tea plants Chin Xin Oolong (). Because Shan Xian Lin was told that Fong Chi Lin did not have enough money attend for imperia civil examination. So, He helped Fong Chi. After Fong Chi Lin successfully won a promoted scholar (Jui Ren) he gave 12 tea plants to Mr. Lin Shan Xian who successfully grown these plant near Kylin Pond at Lugu, Dong Ding area.
The traditional Dong Ding oolong tea planted at 700~1200meater mountain area which tea aremostly made by strain of the plant Chin Xin Oolong. Tea was picked one bud 2 leaves or one bud 3 leaves and produced in about 30% fermentation and heavy rosted.
Dong Ding is located at Lugu village, Nantou county where the weather is cold and mist, cloud all year around very suitable for growing tea.
