Darjeeling Tea comes in three varieties the Spring Flush which is plucked in March, after the Winter showers; the Summer Flush which is plucked in May and June; the Monsoon Tea which is plucked from July to September; and Autumnal which is plucked in October.

Tea plants in Darjeeling belong to the `China Hybrid and `China Jat varieties.
