Steven M. Rubin dedicates his profession to promoting the rights of individuals in the place of work. He earned a degree Phi Beta Kappa from Brown University before entering USC Law Center where he graduated in 1979 when he first came to be a member of the State Bar of California. He is accepted to practice in federal courts across the State and also the United States Supreme Court. He exercised international and regulatory law for several years before ultimately establishing his own employment law practice in Los Angeles exclusively representing employees. For over 20 years he has been filing claims on behalf of employees in state and federal courts across California in wrongful termination, disability and cancer discrimination, gender and pregnancy discrimination, sexual harassment, whistleblower retaliation and employee wage-hour disputes (e.g., misclassification and unpaid overtime). He has been connected with bringing a top workplace wage and hour case before the California Supreme Court. He has successfully taken care of tons of severance negotiations, and regularly litigates discrimination, whistleblower and sexual harassment cases into substantial cash award settlements for his clients, often early enough in the process so that the benefits are enjoyed without the costs, uncertainty and anxiety that goes along with years of trial and appellate litigation. A few recent settlements are detailed here. Clients often feel empowered by their experience as explained here.

Steve regularly deals with arbitrations under a variety of providers such as AAA, ADR, and Jams; and has wide skill with mediation and creative approaches to alternate dispute resolution. Above all, he has shown a special aptitude for creatively and effectively bringing employers to the table to engage in the early negotiation of disputes.

His firm's practice consists of representation of corporate executives, highly paid professionals and managers and also every imaginable occupation from nurses, medical technicians, and bar tenders, to account executives, salesman, and retail associates in big box retailers. What these people have in common is that they are victims of whistleblower retaliation, sexual harassment, fmla/disability discrimination, and other wrongs and discrimination in the office. The firm regularly resolves all matter of workplace disputes,, often through expeditious and confidential pre-trial negotiations that do not leave a record for future employers.
