Melanotan II is a variant of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (α-MSH), a melanocortin peptide hormone which is produced naturally in the body. Structurally, Melanotan II is a cyclic heptapeptide analog of the alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (α-MSH) that tends to induce skin tanning.
